Can you imagine every Tent/Church in our network with 2 to 3 Food Tunnels next to it?
INTRODUCTION
Many of our people live in areas where 50% to 80% of the people in the community are jobless. Millions in Africa are already starving. We will have to follow in the footsteps of Jesus who shared the Bread of Life with the people, but also shared the fish and bread that they had. The Lords instruction to us is very clear: “Feed My people.”
We started our first projects with the help of Nico van Rensburg from AMCUP (Amanzimtoti Community Upliftment Project) in Orange Farm. Pastor Michael from Orange Farm went on a four day training course to Amanzimtoti and came back with the skills and equipment to start the project. The first fruits were harvested in the middle of September 2004.
THE STRATEGY
The reason why we chose the food tunnels system and not food-gardens are
Higher yield per area;
no soil diseases;
faster growth;
operation and maintenance costs are much lower;
less fertilizer needed;
less water used;
no long waiting period, ext.
It will be possible to maintain the project with minimum effort.
The Budget
Training Equipment & plants
1 Church
R15 000.00 per Tunnel
SUMMARY
We are seriously trusting God for the resources to put hundreds of these tunnels in the field and want to thank Willie Dique for his innovative ideas and recourses which lead to the accomplishment of the first project
